Ingredients
  • One 5.4 ounce can coconut cream
  • 2 cups water 2 individual spiced Chai tea bags (I use organic horjicha chai)
  • 1 cinnamon stick (plus more for serving)
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • ¼ cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 tablespoons raw honey
  • 2 ounces vodka (optional)
Instructions
  1. Place the coconut cream in a medium mixing bowl and chill in the fridge.
  2. Meanwhile, bring the water to boil. Cover the tea bags with the boiling water and steep for 20 minutes.
  3. While the tea is steeping, combine the almond milk, pumpkin, and honey in a small food processor. Pulse until frothy and smooth.
  4. Remove the cinnamon stick and tea bag. Whisk in the pumpkin milk and reheat over a low flame. Add the vodka, if using.
  5. Once the coconut cream is chilled, whisk it by hand until thickened. It won’t become as dense as whipped cream, but you want it to be foamy enough to sit on the top of the glass.
  6. Ladle the tea into mugs and top with the coconut cream and a cinnamon stick for garnish.

Try a t-sleeve

Have you seen this new tea accessory called t-sleeve? If not you can try a free t-sleeve for yourself to see how convenient this 'tea sleeve' can truly be. T-sleeve is an envelope that closes after you put your favorite tea bag and sweeteners inside. When you're needing that cup of tea, wherever you may be just break out your t-sleeve. Then it will provide as an anchor for that string, preventing it from falling in your cup. If you're a tea squeezer, you now have a way to squeeze your bag without getting your fingers wet. When your tea is done all the waste can go back into the t-sleeve serving as a container for disposal. Want to know more? Watch a video demonstration at:www.tsleeve.com

Learn why the 'Spanish Cure' Tea really Busts Colds!

Have you ever heard of the 'Spanish Cure' used to recover from a cold? Many people of Spanish heritage will tell you that when you have a cold, no remedy works as well as a tea made of garlic, lemon, and honey. It can be rough getting this tea down the hatch but it works very quickly. If you're having trouble getting down, you can try brewing a lemon flavored tea (using your t-sleeve) in attempts to mask the taste a bit. Learn why the ingredients in this 'Spanish Cure' or cold recovery tea really work below.

Garlic The same oils that give garlic its unmistakable scent are deposited by the bloodstream into the respiratory tract. There, they inhibit cough and cold microbes, and they are effective decongestants.
Honey While there's little research on the subject, many cultures believe that honey is a respiratory tonic, gently improving breathing. Honey is known to be antimicrobial, and it helps the immune system fight infection. (Check out these 6 other uses for honey.)
Lemon According to Schar, "Lemon juice reduces and thins mucus, which makes it easier to unclog a stuffed-up respiratory system." Lemon juice also alters the body's pH, potentially making it less hospitable to viruses and bacteria.
