Black Tea Poached Chicken


Chicken has been prepared with just about everything out there, there is herb rubbed chicken, teriyaki chicken, lemon chicken, BBQ chicken and so many more they can't be listed here. The point is there are so many ways to prepare chicken that is almost seems obvious to try it cooked in tea. This Black Tea Poached Chicken recipe is a great marinade for before hitting grill or even sliced up and added to your own recipe. In a small sized saucepan, bring 2 cups water to a boil. Add tea bags along with star anise. Steep them gently for 5 minutes, take out the star anise and tea bags. Stir the content in soy sauce, brown sugar, vegetable and sesame oils and cinnamon; let it to cool up to room temperature for about 10 minutes.Keep the chicken breasts in a large sized resealable plastic bag and pour in the marinade; refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 8 hours.
Preheat a grill to off cooked condition. Now, position the chicken on an oiled cooking grate and then grill uncovered by turning onto each side twice for about 10 to 12 minutes.
